Horst the photographer.
Horst Paul Albert Bohrmann who chose to be known as Horst P. Horst was a German-American fashion photographer.
'Patterns in Nature'
I like this this picture because I find the way that Horst made the picture was very creative. He got details and negative things from different types of pictures and also added in objects such as flowers and feathers then made a collage out of them and then arranging the photos in repeat. The reason why Horst did this was so they could be used as designs for wallpaper, carpets and glass. |
'Fashion in colour'
I chose this picture because, I like the way Horst perfected these colours and used new techniques. I also like how Horst takes the picture from behind her, slightly to the left and also shines the light behind her so it makes some parts of the photograph bright and dark in some parts. |
'Haute Couture'
In this picture, Horst framed the image and the lighting well by placing the model in the middle of two large standing columns and shined the light onto her which reflected well onto the columns and the woman, herself. |
'Surrealism'
I like this picture because it's effective. The thing that makes this such an effective image in my opinion is because it sort of looks like she's assuming the roll of venus and love and beauty. |
